Qualified ENERGEX Spotter Services

Protecting People. Ensuring Compliance.

Working near overhead powerlines requires careful planning, competent safety observation and compliance with Queensland electrical safety requirements. QSEMS provides qualified Safety Observer services – commonly referred to on site as ENERGEX Spotter services – for builders, contractors, plant operators, civil crews and project managers across Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Our spotters provide dedicated observation of plant, equipment, loads and vehicle movements near overhead powerlines and exclusion zones. We maintain clear communication with operators and work within the site’s nominated safety controls to help reduce electrical risk while keeping work progressing safely and efficiently.

Why Do You Need a Qualified Safety Observer?

Overhead powerlines present a serious electrical hazard to workers, plant and equipment. An exclusion zone is the minimum safe distance that must be maintained around live powerlines, and the required controls depend on the work being carried out, the equipment being used and the site conditions.

A trained Safety Observer provides a dedicated line of sight to the work, monitors the movement of plant, vehicles and loads, and warns the operator before an exclusion zone is approached. The observer’s role is focused on watching, warning and communicating effectively with the operator.

Using a qualified ENERGEX Spotter / Safety Observer can help your project manage electrical risk, support compliance with site safety requirements and reduce the likelihood of incidents, shutdowns and avoidable delays.
